Willson, William Contreras 5th brothers to start All-Star

William Contreras of the Atlanta Braves and Willson Contreras of the Chicago Cubs were the fifth and sixth Contreras siblings, respectively, to start in an All-Star Game.

Bryce Harper, who was elected by the fans, fractured his left thumb on June 25 and Contreras was selected as a reserve to start in his place.

In 2003, Aaron and Bret Boone were the only siblings to play in the All-Star Game at the same time.

Mort and Walker Cooper, Dixie and Harry Walker, Joe and Dom DiMaggio, and Roberto and Sandy Alomar Jr. are some of the other brothers who have been in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

It is the first time William Contreras has been an All-Star. The 24-year-old is currently on a hot streak. 273, 11 home runs, 22 RBIs.

Willson Contreras, 30, was named an All-Star starter for the third time in his career. He’s on base right now. 266 with 13 home runs and 35 RBIs.
