Kylian Mbappe reveals that he had a spat with Neymar; called him a tramp

Kylian Mbappe has confirmed reports that he clashed with Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar, during the French side’s match with Montpellier. Mbappe stated that he had actually called the Brazilian a tramp for not passing the ball to him during the match.

In a recent interview with L’Equipe, the World Cup-winning forward revealed that he spoke to Neymar after the match and the duo ironed things out.

“Yes, yes, I said it (on calling Neymar a tramp). Now, these are things which happen all the time in football. It just needs to be something that doesn’t linger. That’s why, right after, given how it blew up, I spoke to him about it. We’ve exchanged a lot of words like that in the past and we’ll continue to do so, because we want to win, but there shouldn’t be any hard feelings. There is no resentment at all because I respect the player and the man and I admire what he is,” said Mbappe.

Mbappe mouthed those words after being substituted in the dying moments of the match and it was caught on camera. PSG had won the match 2-0, thanks to goals from Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler.

Mbappe and Neymar have been part of the PSG side since 2017, with both arriving in the summer transfer window. The duo has scored loads of goals, guiding PSG to three league titles and one Champions League final. The PSG attack became deadlier this summer as the Parisian side added Lionel Messi to the ranks.

In the same interview, Mbappe admitted that he thought he was going to leave the club this summer. The Frenchman was linked with a move to Real Madrid and he stated that he wanted to give PSG the time to bring in a replacement for him.

“I’m not going to act like a hypocrite and send out a plea, like: ‘Oh, I don’t know.’ This summer my ambition was clear, I wanted to leave and put the club in the best circumstances to bring in my replacement. Right now, my future is not my priority. I’ve already wasted a lot of energy this summer, it’s draining,” said the 22-year-old.

Real Madrid had made a €200 million bid for Mbappe in the summer, which was rejected by the Ligue 1 side. Mbappe will be free to join any club next summer as his contract with PSG expires and he will likely join Madrid.
