Ultimate chess match on tap as Brady faces Pats for first time
Each of the six Super Bowl victory banners that Tom Brady helped to create and hang above New England’s Gillette Stadium will long be a part of his legacy.
When he returns to face the Patriots, he may as well be playing in front of a mirror.
Everything will be turned around.
“I’m familiar with the locker room at home. That house tunnel is familiar to me. I can tell which way the wind is blowing. Brady stated this week, “I know everything about that.” “As a result, it will be unusual in several aspects. That has never happened to me. It will be my first time on the opposing bench in New England.”
Brady will return to Foxborough on Sunday night for the first time since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after 20 seasons with the Patriots. He’ll go up against former coach Bill Belichick, as well as former teammates who have never stood on an NFL field and looked across at Brady wearing another team’s jersey, let alone attempted to tackle him.
Deatrich Wise Jr., a defensive end with the Patriots, stated, “The opportunity is amazing, and I’m looking forward to the occasion.”
While the Patriots have all faced up against former colleagues before, they recognize that this time is different. Brady has institutional knowledge of their defensive systems and tendencies that none of the other players have.
With a quarterback who is a virtuoso at getting the ball out swiftly and reading and tricking defenses with his eyes, the margin for error is razor thin.
