NFL takes no breaks as Chiefs’ Super Bowl revelry wanes

While the Kansas City Chiefs woke up Monday still glowing from their second Super Bowl victory in four years, the Philadelphia Eagles were forced to bemoan their missed opportunity to add another Lombardi Trophy to their collection.

Who else is in the league? They have, after all, been planning ahead for some time.

Even though the offseason officially begins the day after the Super Bowl, hardly one in the NFL actually takes a break. Before the league’s annual draft at the end of April, there are some tough business choices to be made with current players, scouting to be completed, and a game plan to establish.

This year’s draft, by sheer happenstance, will take place in the Kansas City area.
