Magnus Cort Nielsen wins Tour de France Stage 10 in the Alps

Published on

Tenth stage winner Magnus Cort Nielsen claimed the Tour de France’s 10th stage at the end of an uphill, protestor-interrupted trip through the Alps on Tuesday.

Cort Nielsen claimed his second stage victory in cycling’s most prestigious event, after his first in the historic city of Carcassonne four years before.

After a lengthy and hard climb to the Megeve ski resort, the Danish racer pipped Nick Schultz to the finish by a few inches.

The yellow jersey was retained by the race’s leader, Tadej Pogacar, who raced within a group of general contenders who finished fewer than nine minutes behind.

For 12 minutes, the stage was put on hold as a small group of protestors opposing climate change took to the road and let out flares.
