Kevin Durant asks for trade from Brooklyn Nets
As far as we know, Kevin Durant isn’t going anywhere in his pursuit for more championships.
According to a source with firsthand knowledge of the decision, Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, which is certain to send clubs scurrying to put together offers for the perennial All-Star.
An individual who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because neither Durant nor the Nets had made any announcements publicly said that the team has been working with Durant to find a trade partner and that he has more than one team on his short list of preferred destinations.
After Durant asked for a trade, ESPN claimed that Phoenix and Miami were his top choices. The shocking news broke only hours before the start of the NBA’s free-agent signing period this summer.
Three years after announcing on social media that he was joining the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant has revealed that he is leaving the team.
With the Golden State Warriors, where he spent the most of his career until joining the Brooklyn Nets, Durant has won four NBA championships as well as three Olympic gold medals. With over $200 million remaining on his deal, a team may need to acquire him with the help of other players or draft selections.
