Browns excuse Beckham for 2nd straight day

Odell Beckham Jr. is still parked outside – a long way outside.

The divisive wide receiver was excused from practice for the second straight day on Thursday as the Cleveland Browns try to figure out what to do with him, according to a source close to the issue.

The team hasn’t decided what to do with Beckham yet, according to a source who spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.

If there isn’t a reconciliation, Cleveland could waive Beckham or bring him back, which seems unlikely at this time.

Beckham celebrates his 29th birthday on Friday. The three-time Pro Bowler is making $15.75 million this season, and if he is dismissed and not claimed by another team, the Browns will have to pay him at least half of that.

Beckham has a two-year contract with the team, although he is not promised any money.

The Browns (4-4) host the Cincinnati Bengals (5-3) on Sunday in the midst of a huge distraction. They are now in last place in the AFC North.
